You can expect some shade along Lake Mendota and through the tree-lined neighborhoods. Run: 8 hours and 30 minutes after the last athlete enters the water. Midtown: about .6 miles at 5-6% grade, with a false flat at the top. As mentioned above, the IRONMAN Wisconsinrun course was voted "Best Overall Run" in 2017. Finally TeamEN has had 18 to 50+ athletes at the race every year since 2008. . Roaring spectators, usually three or four deep, line the helix from top to bottom, giving athletes a huge boost on the run up. Snorkels are not allowed under anycircumstances for any IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3event. Spectators will be plentiful in the many parks and great neighborhoods along the course. Especially on the run course, you're usually only a few blocks away from the athletes at all times, giving you plenty of opportunities to cheer late in the race.
